Something that has been at length discussed in a number of threads. In the current one 123bob has been most helpful in testing and confirming. It's very much a Vista related problem.

Re: Incorrect function. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1)

Seems the issue worsened tonight, for me at least. While up to now 25-50% of the HPF2 workunits errored out with this error, when I checked this morning I saw I had a 100% error rate, resulting in ~ 4 pages of errors in the Results section.

As a side affect I seem to be unable to get new workunits...

3-2-2009 8:23:39|World Community Grid|Message from server: (reached daily quota of 40 results)

I'll uncheck HPF2 for this machine for now. That'll clear this issue over time I assume. In the mean time I'll have to enable another non-WCG project to keep my machine busy. worried

Sekerob
I have also seen these errors on my vista system. I have unchecked this project for the time being. Any guess on when a fix is forth coming? Will it be a fix from WCG or those guys in Redmond?

Re: Incorrect function. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1)

Hello mdparkhill,
I am not thinking right today.

Sigh . . .

Anyway, the problem is OS-specific. Maybe Rosetta@Home has a fix. If so, we will have to schedule a comparison of results using old and new Rosetta and let the project scientists decide on this. Probably not very soon.

Lawrence

smile clown Edited post when I realized that HPF2 is not CEP.

Additional information: Sekerob is getting good results trying BOINC 6.6.10 on Vista. This may be a BOINC problem rather than an application problem.

biggrin Re: Incorrect function. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1)

Thank you for your response lawrence. I understand the CEP confusion there is great deal of discusion. I'm hoping they get some fix for this as I was rather surprised when my wife's system started kicking errors like there was no tomorrow on this project as the others completed just fine with normal error rates. Have good weekend

Re: Incorrect function. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1)

The other day i upgraded to BOINC 6.4.7 x64 from 6.4.5 x64, after the upgrade I got alot of these errors didn't see them with 6.4.5...

Changed to BOINC WCG version 6.2.28 32bit and haven't seen any more errors.

But I want to run BOINC x64 so I will try 6.2.19 and see if that one works.
