I am having problems uploading work units from the HFFC project, specifically the 535.72kb unit. It will only upload a few percentage points before giving me a "HTTP error" message. Whether I wait few minutes and try again or wait for the project to cycle through on its own makes no difference. Other units from HFFC or other WCG projects sometimes take one or two extra attempts but this one always takes many tries. I also contribute to SETI@home and Einstein@home without any problems.
I'm using a PowerPC G4 with Mac OS X 10.5.8 and dial-up. I'm currently using BOINC 6.10.51. These problem also occurred with BOINC 6.10.44. Thanks, Ted |

Ted, does this issue still happen after you've restarted your router/modem and/or computer?, as, if you havent restarted your system recently, that may be a possible cause.

I have the same problem on three boxes since 1 hour with the message, that the project servers maybe down. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Mathilde2006 at May 25, 2010 10:30:15 PM] |

We are looking into the issue. It does not affect all users.

Well, either they've got things down fixing it or it's getting worse. Plain old update gives "Scheduler request failed: HTTP internal server error". I had two uploads that were failing. One did get thru after some number of retries. The other is still failing.

This is a replay of the issue from Friday. It has gone away on its own again. We are observing that it does appear to only impact some users.
----------------------------------------andzgrid -> it looks like you still haven't been able to upload. Is that correct? I do see that a little bit of data trickles in and then you get a timeout. [Edit 1 times, last edit by knreed at May 26, 2010 2:29:19 AM] |

Hello knreed - WCG Tech
Reference: Your [May 26, 2010 2:25:47 AM] post At the time of your post (May 26, 2010 2:25:47 AM), I still had BOINC_v6.2.28 set to "Network Activity suspended". In another sync-up session, this time lasting for twelve(12) minutes, from 2010.05.26We.0441.UTC-through-2010.05.26We.0453.UTC, I was able to successfully upload WCG HPF2 WUs without problems but encountered some difficulty on the download portion of the sync-up session; details as follows: .ReportStart-----------------------------------------------------------> WU_type: WCG HPF2_v6.17 WU_count_for_upload: Twenty-One(21) WU_count_downloaded_after_session: Nineteen(19) Problem areas: upload_Portion: No download_Portion: Yes Boinc_v6.2.28_Messages: Temporarily failed download of nk300-309_aank30909_05.075_v1_3.gz: HTTP error NumberOfTimesAboveBoinc_v6.2.28_MessageOccurred: Six(6). item_involved: nk300-309_aank30909_05.075_v1_3.gz End Result: Successful_with_download_difficulty_on_one(1)_item. <----------------------------------------------------------- ReportEnd. For your feedback. ; |

Same here. Short periods of data transfer and long wait times. I'm on a dialup and can't tie up my phone line waiting for servers to act normal.
