Re: Round 3 - GPU Beta Test for Help Conquer Cancer

If I went down from 4 to 3 cores, would that maybe enable me to get a few more GPU beta units? I'm thinking it wouldn't make a difference in whether I get more or not, cuz the GPU is free either way unless it's working on one, right?

Right, having a free CPU core won't make you download GPU tasks, just run them a bit faster (probably) if you have a GPU task.

I only got 12 GPU Beta's this time (round 3) on my HD5850 (1 system), and none before. Each only lasted a few min.

I got a few invalids, that seemed to run just fine:

Re: Round 3 - GPU Beta Test for Help Conquer Cancer

Yeah, for stock BOINC projects, they have yes/no check boxes for CPU, ATI, and nVidia. So you can pick-and-choose.

But I am curious: Has it been answered why no one received any nVidia tasks this round? The announce implied that nVidia was included. I think the newer server code is too clever for its own good....

Re: Round 3 - GPU Beta Test for Help Conquer Cancer

Why can I not keep WCG from downloading CPU tasks..

Since this is WCG's first GPU project (beta is just starting) that option is not currently available.

I see that you putting out over 2.5M BOINC credits/day! What is your setup?
