I have just ordered three new i7-crunchers to replace old machines for participating in the hunt!

Re: Welcome to Mapping Cancer Markers

please update system requirements (cpu/ram/bw)

+ how many batches are in the project? for how many months/years is prediction to run?

thanks

At the moment, this project will run for a long time. It is NOT planned to be a short project. How long, I do not know that at this point. We do not have an estimate of the number of batches.

My personal opinion is this is probably a multiple year project.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Hmm, multi-year? If you port it to GPU, we could finish it by August tongue

That is undoubtedly good news to those badge hunters with limited resources. Crunch on

Re: Welcome to Mapping Cancer Markers

GPU is not supported on this project. We are still VERY early in the game to see if this code will work well ported to use the GPU. If you are looking for a time table as to when this would go to GPU if possible, I do not know.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

For any new projects that do support GPUs, I was wondering if they will automatically be used if we have GPU computation enabled and are using boinc v 7 or above. I've been assuming the answer is yes but and that we don't have to do custom config files like last time but it'd be nice to know definitely since I'm not always on the forum and wouldn't want to miss anything.

Re: Welcome to Mapping Cancer Markers

I'm in! I'm afraid I had switched to other pastures for a while, as I'd honestly lost interest waiting for a new project here. So it's great to be back - 14 cores coming online now.
