Lots of Pending Verification Results

I am seeing lots more inconclusive results coming up, now well over a page pending verification. Here is an example of one doing many re-sends - https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/devi...s.do?workunitId=897163321

Re: Lots of Inconclusive Results

As I see it restarted WUs are becoming Invalid. They have different size of output file than not restarted.

Re: Lots of Inconclusive Results

Where Scribe the 'Inconclusive' state is pulling from for the quorum 2 MCM science, beats me. It's a zero redundant science reserved state [FAHV/FAAH e.g.] where the first copy is not outright valid.

There's already a thread started several days on this: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,35851

Sequence is [if no computation error giving outright 'Error'

1) First to returns [Pending Validation]
2) Second to return [If any of the 2 had a restart], both turning Pending Verification
3) Third to return determines which go Valid, and which Invalid. Usually the 2 without restart

Not seen any yet where both restarted and got a Valid without a 3rd opinion. For me this is reproducible on Linux and Windows.

edit: Lol, 24 hours later, 'Inconclusive' was an abolished status, replaced by Pending Verification or PVer for short.

Re: Lots of Inconclusive Results

Also getting lots of P Ver MCM WUs (ones with original 10 day deadline), which turn Valid after the wingman has returned the resend.

Re: Lots of Inconclusive Results

Sekerob,

I've had WU that I restarted and wingman did not and they were validated immediately (no PVer state). Although, output file size was same for both. So there is no general rule that restart invalidate WU but lot of restarted end up Invalid.

Re: Lots of Inconclusive Results

I too am seeing an increase in both pending verification units and invalid units. This is specific to MCM1. I can not remember the last time I got an invalid unit prior to MCM1. I have not tracked how many of the pending verification units have turned either valid or invalid, but I am hoping the project eventually settles down. Evidently the specs for determining validity on this project are exact, with no room for any variation. New project, new parameters, if that is the way the researchers want it, so be it, but I still hope they can somewhat alleviate the number of invalids.
Cheers

Re: Lots of Inconclusive Results

Looks like it might be a bigger issue with those of you running AMD CPUs then those running Intel.
NM. I just looked at my results. I had no pending verification this morning and 17 pages of pending validation. I still have 17 pages of pending validation and now have 2 pages of pending verification and 3 invalid results. confused
