Never ending Zika task.

I found a Zika task that is not ending. Well, it says it is 100% done, but it does not upload data and prevents a new task from taking its slot. Any ideas?

ZIKA_ 000087385_ x2jlx_ DV4_ NS3hlcs_ ssRNA_ chB_ s2_ 0090_ 1-- Microsoft Windows 10 Core x64 Edition, (10.00.14393.00) - In Progress 10/16/16 03:11:20 10/19/16 15:11:20 0.00 0.0 / 0.0

It says elapsed = 2d 2:06:34
Remaining = 00:00:00
Wingman is in PV after 2:20.

There is nothing in the transfer queue

I suspended the job to let other tasks start. Should I take this as a loss and abort? Reboot the machine and hope it completes? Other information that could be useful? First time I have seen this and other tasks are still running normally. I was wondering why my task completed counts were lower than normal.

Re: Never ending Zika task.

Don't abort.
Do not have application in memory while suspended ticked while doing this reset.
Try to restart the service. That should clear the problem.
Please report back.

Re: Never ending Zika task.

How do I make sure that the application is not in memory? I am using BOINC 7.6.33. I remember seeing this option some time ago, but I can't find it now. Never mind. I finally found it.

How do I restart the service. I am running this as a service, but don't know how to stop and restart it. Is it something other than a re-boot? Thanks

Tom

Re: Never ending Zika task.

For Linux:
/etc/init.d/boinc-client restart

Windows:
Start; Control Panel; System and Security; Admin Tools; Services
Find BOINC and click on restart

Re: Never ending Zika task.

I guess I forgot an important piece of information here. I'm running Win 10.

Re: Never ending Zika task.

Thanks for all the help. I tried restarting the service as pcwr instructed, but there was some problem and it would not work. Rebooted computer. Elapsed time on the task returned to zero and the task started from the beginning. All is well except for the long time where that task took up 1 slot of my 4 so I was only running at 75% capacity. Thanks again.
