Welcome to the Smash Childhood Cancer Project

Dear Volunteers,

After months of preparation, I'm pleased to announce the launch of Smash Childhood Cancer .

This new project builds on our work during the Help Fight Childhood Cancer project, which identified several chemical compounds that could potentially be made into new treatments for neuroblastoma, a common childhood cancer. Now, we are expanding our team and our goals to search for new treatments for a number of types of childhood cancer.

Volunteers like you make this work possible. We are excited to be working with World Community Grid once more, and invite you to recruit your family and friends to join us as we seek to Smash Childhood Cancer.

Thank you,

Dr. Akira Nakagawara

Re: Welcome to the Smash Childhood Cancer Project

Cool!

Could we ask for an update on those compounds from the HFCC project?
Are any being developed, etc?

Re: Welcome to the Smash Childhood Cancer Project

Excellent

(SCC1 advancing to AD Vina from HFCC on AD, not recollecting to have seen comments about speed advantage under Linux/Mac, because then I'' set my Ubuntu to do these :O)

Edit: The detail introduction . confuses me not a little...

"The following target molecules are ones the researchers will be addressing first"

A.are we docking molecules to targets or are the targets docked to particular molecules (from a library)?

Re: Welcome to the Smash Childhood Cancer Project

Excellent, a new project to get everyone excited all over again.

Bring it on - I'm just about to check/ensure that I'm in smile

Edit: Despite checking/ensuring that the new project is ticket in my selection, I'm still getting the following;
26/01/2017 21:41:11 | World Community Grid | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
26/01/2017 21:41:11 | World Community Grid | Requesting new tasks for CPU
26/01/2017 21:41:13 | World Community Grid | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
26/01/2017 21:41:13 | World Community Grid | No tasks sent
26/01/2017 21:41:13 | World Community Grid | No tasks are available for Help Stop TB
26/01/2017 21:41:13 | World Community Grid | No tasks are available for the applications you have selected.

i.e., no reference at all to the new project - not even that there's none currently to download. Is there something amiss?

Re: Welcome to the Smash Childhood Cancer Project

The usual question is, did you hit Save after ticking the new project?
