Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

I believe your servers are being tested. I never got a full load of 24 simultaneous AMD/ATI GPU work units. No problem getting Intel GPU WUs and some of them are still in progress.

Got 3, all ended with an error. The run time debugger is too long to post, but will if it is needed.

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

Funny the credit gets lower and lower for each Beta. 0.4 points each unit lol.

At 0 credits per task, we can then all stop caring about credits altogether.

However, I fell still amazing having crunched more open pandemics tasks in the last 2 beta runs combined, than I did by running 3-4 cpu threads on and off for the last 12 months :)

But yeah, if the logic would be average credit per cpu tasks times the number of jobs packaged in a GPU WU, then credits shouldn’t be where there are now.

That's it, the well is dry.
This run: 35 tasks finished with the GTX980, and 7 tasks with the iGPU HD4600

All running fine and finished OK.
GPU cruncher is now shut down.

Indeed, this is going to be colossal once it's up and running.
Hopefully they get the points issue sorted - it should somehow reflect power [and power usage] in line with CPU crunching.

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

I think I see the answer to my comment about the servers being tested. Planned Maintenance on Tuesday, March 9.

5 Mar 2021

Summary
We are updating the operating system on our servers on Tuesday, March 9, beginning at 14:00 UTC.

We will be applying an important operating system update to our servers on Tuesday, March 9, beginning at 14:00 UTC. We anticipate that the work will take approximately four hours.

During some of this time, volunteers will not be able to upload or download new work, and the website will not be accessible.

Volunteers will not need to take any particular action, as your devices will automatically retry their connections after the maintenance work is completed.

We appreciate your patience and participation.

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

Got 7WUs on a GTX 750Ti and 21 WUs on a GTX 1650. All in PV.

None on any machines with AMD GPUs, which is a bit of a bummer; I was hoping to see if I there were problems on machines other than the one that encountered weirdness in the last beta. Maybe next time!

Time will tell I guess. Usually they allow 4 hours for system updates.

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

Intel (0.202 CPUs + IntelGPU) finish-date 21/03/09
Have Einstein (1 CPU+ 1 Intel GPU) as a second GPU-Project with finish-date-21/03/19.
All OPNG are waiting to start. Is there a wrong configured priority?

AMD have no problem with other GPU-Project's priority.
Three GPU-Projects at same time - only one GPU-Task after the other is running. Using no app_config.

Re: OpenPandemics GPU Beta Test - March 5 2021 [ Issues Thread ]

Figured out my AMD GPU problem:

OpenCL: AMD/ATI GPU 0: Radeon RX550/550 Series (POLARIS12, DRM 3.40.0, 5.11.1-arch1-1, (driver version 20.3.4, device version OpenCL 1.1 Mesa 20.3.4
OpenCL: AMD/ATI GPU 0: AMD Radeon (TM) Pro WX 3200 Series (POLARIS12, DRM 3.40.0, 5.11. (driver version 20.3.4, device version OpenCL 1.1 Mesa 20.3.4

OpenCL 1.2 was defined in 2012, so it never occurred to me that GPUs I picked up last year might not support it. Meanwhile, the 750 Ti from 2014:

OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX 750 Ti (driver version 460.39, device version OpenCL 1.2 CUDA

Today I Learned.
