You can teach an old fart new tricks!
----------------------------------------I resolved the IRQ conflict, installed Jonathan's driver and I am now crunchin' on the PS3Grid!! Lots of fan noise and the temp went up 4C but it seems to be working fine. @Jonathan: Thanks for the driver! @Dave: Take care of yourself, Bro. You must get a 8800GT card for that new machine!! The three of us could out produce the whole team. Nice day here. I feel much better after 11 hours of sleep. Crunch on MOT! EDIT: I just checked the spec's of my 4 HP Pavillion M9040n's. They each have 1 PCI-Express slot currently used by a GeForce 8400GS card (removable ) My Oh My, this could get expensive. Do you think Amazon would give me a discount on 4 more 8800GT's. Dataman, I might want to upgrade to a 9800 gt. You interested in my 8800 gt? Thanks Jonathan but on closer inspection the HP's have a 300W power supply and the 8800 requires a minimum of 400W. You should make Dave a good deal on it as it would work great with his new machine. I looked at the requirements for PS3grid again and the cards that are in them are supported under 32 bit. They are not recommended as they are quote "slow". But if an 8800 can do a wu in 8 hours, a 8400GS should be able to do one within the 5 day limit. Tomorrow I will try to bring PS3grid up on a HP. I should complete my first wu around 8 pm tonight. @Dave: Get the card! |

Well, the quad seems to have held up fine along with one C2D. The other C2D seems to have gotten hung up for some reason as some point. Not sure when yet. Still, not too bad overall.
