B-Types are released

Hi,

it seems that the B-types are released now.

I have got 2 of them:

erlc_ a123_ se0000_ 0-- xxx In Progress 05.03.10 15:31:44 08.03.10 10:43:44 0.00 0.0 / 0.0
erlc_ a119_ se0000_ 1-- xxx In Progress 05.03.10 15:31:24 08.03.10 10:43:24 0.00 0.0 / 0.0

Estimated runtime: ~7 hour initially, dropping fast, each WU reached 10% after ~20min, so it will end up at a little bit over 3 hours

Cheers
Thorsten

[Edit: added more accurate estimation]

Re: B-Types are released

That will have been the first 50 (100 considering quorum 2) as then per noon there were still 115 wingmen missing on 39 batches. (Uplinger had 1 set of 25 A type complete per his last message)

Re: B-Types are released

I was curious if anyone noticed type B work units going out. Sek is 100% correct on the work unit count. I snagged a pe and a se work unit for testing and they have reached the main loop. Takes about 15 minutes of 0% then when it reaches the main loop, things start progressing.

(also, there was another surprise late last night that nobody noticed....)

Some of us noticed. Just trying to keep with that whole "no announcement" theme. ;)

EXCELLENT!!! Thanks for implementing that. I hope it allows more crunchers to get these by allowing BOINC to work the way it was designed (i.e. the next time your machine contacts the server, you get work). applause

BTW: I have no idea what the other surpise was. wink

Re: B-Types are released

Well, no, not if you were there :O

edit:

The good thing is that each B type will be good for many C Type results. With a bit of luck we might see them come Monday + 1 week.

Results: Each type B work unit creates about 250 to 350 type C workunits

Re: B-Types are released

Hmmm,
my first two WU went well beyond 100% and had lots of such messages in the boinc log:

05.03.2010 21:38:59 World Community Grid [error] erlc_a124_se0000_1: negative FLOPs left -42539484118624.758000
05.03.2010 21:39:55 World Community Grid [error] erlc_a107_se0000_1: negative FLOPs left -42554807339832.187000

But both completed and are now PV. Let's see whether they will validate.
