DDDT-2 Run time Ranges for "Completed" results.

We see all these types and sub-types and the run times were broadly covered in the head topic http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,28528. For the Matrix I'd like to collect some from that flow chart:

ACTUAL COMPLETED RUN TIMES:

A-Type, PS do 24-100 hours (seen one that low in a quorum, outliers as high as 192 hours reported too)
B-Type, PE 1:15-1:30 hours
B-Type, SE 3-5 hours seen on the Q6600 and duo
C-Type, PE > PQ was reported as 14 minutes!
C-Type, PE > PD ?
C-Type, PE > PR ?
C-Type, PE > PC ?
C-Type, PE > PL ?
C-Type, SE > SQ+SR do ~44 minutes here like clockwork on the Q6600
C-Type, SE > SD ?

Post your times with device type/OS, so we can collect some real times and hopefully help to set their quasi approximate runtime expectations. It's wild to the client so watch your buffers. Keep them low-ish and your client will not over commit.

Remember: When you / the client starts returning work frequently beyond 48 hours from receipt you wont get the A-Type! The Reliability Matrix in the Start Here FAQ will tell you how many.

Special note: No sidetracking plz. We have a topic on that topic of reliability, which is not in this thread!

thx in advance for telling your times and client specs.

Is there a way to easily export the results to .csv or grab them all from somewhere? Copy/paste is a pain.

Re: DDDT-2 Run time Ranges

That's wishlisted. For now I use in Firefox the Hold Ctrl and then selecting the columns of interest, prior, select the project /result status of interest and use the header selections to sort results... limited then to 15 results per page. Even if we could set it in profile prefs to a higher number it would be great, but that might have a performance impact for WCG???????? We're looking straight into a live database.

If you're only interested in the cpu-times, and not how much credit you got, the easiest is to go directly to the job_log_project-url.txt that resides in your BOINC-clients data-directory. This log includes all the tasks that didn't error-out on client, for each BOINC-project, and includes among other things when finished, cpu-time, estimated #flops (making it easy to calculate how bad the DCF is...), and task-name.

Since each of the various WCG sub-projects normally is using a different start-task-name, it's very easy after inporting the info to Excel or something, to just sort the data and sort on task-name to group all DDDT2-work and so on. wink

Don't remember exactly when the job_log-functionality was added, but it's one of the v5.x.xx-clients so v5.10.xx and later definitely has it.

Re: DDDT-2 Run time Ranges

I think it's easier to copy/paste. At least the results are all in one place.
Maybe some day I'll write something to go out to all the machines and pull the logs.
I also tried exporting the history from BoincTasks, but all the times are dd,hh:mm:ss and it was a pain to split those up in Excel.
