They are not the same but staticticaly are the same.

Are you sure about that? I was under the impression that this was deterministic.

Nobody is sure i am just a chruncher.
But see graphics. You can see that each image you are analyzing is different. And in science nothing is deterministc.
And what exactly do you mean by "that"

Re: HCC Program updated to 6.08

Regardless of whether Windows can be wingman of Linux or not (which it can't according to uplinger), as I understand it the workunits are of the same size for Linux & Windows, as they are picked from the same stack, and OS is only picked once the first in quorum is assigned.

Given this how can it be that the average points earned per workunit is so much lower for Linux compared to Windows (according to Randzo)? Is this true, or are his stats wrong?

I believe this is a related. If the two types aren't integrated it can't average the points.

It does appear the points are a bit low but I need to do some more work to verify it. My vista usually scores the highest over my 3 linux systems.

Re: HCC Program updated to 6.08

I'm also seeing a 2x speed-up of Ubuntu 64 vs Win 7 64.
On Windows it takes 2h15 min.
On Ubuntu it takes 1h10 min.
Xeon E5420 @ 2.5 GHz.
Oh yeah, the Ubuntu is running under VirtualBox 3.2 :)
I wanted to test also some of the beta units, and I'm still amazed of the speed....even under a virtual machine.
I guess gpu support would be asking for too much :P
