Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Dear supporters and friends of the Clean Energy Project,

First and foremost: Thank you very much for your contributions to CEP2 – it’s been a great ride so far and we are excited about things to come!

Since the Linux launch of CEP2 end of June there has been a lot of interest from the WCG community in our work and the overall project, which is a great honor and encouragement to us. So we – the CEP researchers at Harvard University – have decided to use the opportunity of the Win/Mac launch to start this log-thread to keep you posted on things going on in our lab, e.g., events, milestones, etc. This thread is also mirrored on our newly established facebook page and (soon) on our cleanenergy.harvard.edu website. We hope you find these updates interesting.

Thank you again for being a part of this exciting research endeavor.

Best wishes from Cambridge, MA

Yours,

Harvard CEP2 Team

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Hi CleanEnergy Team,

I look forward to reading your project log entries.

I'd like to suggest dual threads be considered.
One as a no reply sticky thread that will be easy for future readers to examine your posted information without having to wade through many pages, and a second to facilitate discussion.
I think a 'clean' log will be a beneficial enduring record of the project.

This suggestion mirrors Beta where there is usually a no reply announcement and a parallel discussion thread. Also an additional benefit in that anyone can subscribe to watch the core log thread for new postings without being inundated with discussion triggered notices.

Cheers

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Tuesday: Prof Wei You from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill gave a seminar titled ‘Molecular Engineering of Conjugated Polymers to Reach Higher Efficiency "Plastic" Solar Cells’ at the MIT. Some of the CEP team went over to listen and had an interesting discussion afterwards.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

The Harvard and IBM team had their weekly phone conference on Wednesday: The Win and Mac launch of CEP2 seems to have been successful so far. Let’s keep the fingers crossed that everything stays stable. The Harvard team also generated the next batch of 750,000 workunits.

The load throttle for CEP2 has been opened up further by now. Our system continues to hold and run stable. You can check out our system monitor .
