tongue Little Mermaid's "inflicting" thread

One cruncher suggested I
'start my own "inflicting" thread and see how many people stay'
I'm not quite sure what that implies, but why not try? tongue
- maybe I get as much attention here as in my "Where are you from?" thread d oh
May I start by apologising for whatever unpleasant I may have inflicted on any cruncher since March 20, 2011?
Please allow me to make up for it by wishing all of you a
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Dejlig er Jorden
- a Christmas song which is used in all of Scandinavia

If I made some krumkake I would leave some for everyone,
but my stone is lost.

Re: Little Mermaid's "inflicting" thread

You spoke Norwegian. As a last resort I turned to statistics.
I looked up Burnsville and looked for Norwegians.
It came up with a whopping 13-14% - almost one out of eight!
I looked up Danes just to compare, and they were just a little over 1%.

We Danes love Norway. We think they are kind of our little brother.
The events in Oslo and in Utøya hit us in solar plexus.
Alexandra Jardvall, a Swedish musician and singer in our support group made this:
Vi kommer aldri ge upp - We Shall Never Give up
- and writes:
My Way of Trying to give some comfort. Sorry, the following is in Swedish.
(which Google Translate remedied)
You feel so helpless in a tragedy like this.
The only thing we can do is be there and support in the way we can.
This is my way. I think of you and I cry with you!

Welcome Little Brother smile
I'm a baking disaster and a fool at it and giving you any of my homemade bricks would certainly be an infliction.
- but I found you a glitzy, shiny granite stone, so please start kneading

Re: Little Mermaid's "inflicting" thread

little mermaid -

I don't know what prompted you to start this thread, but I assure you that you are always very welcome to post in the USMC thread anytime.

I find your posts to be very creative, imaginative, enthusiastic and delightfully entertaining - you are truly an Ace Cruncher.

As I'm not verbose, I may not always reply, having only 136 forum posts since 2004 (average less than 20 posts per year).

Re: Little Mermaid's "inflicting" thread

To clear things up about the triggering of this post - the suggestion of:
'start my own "inflicting" thread and see how many people stay'
was part of an exchange this morning in my pet team
which turned out unexpectedly as a small miracle while I was constructing this very New Thread.
What began to build up like thunder clouds in the horizon became a delightful summers day
I did not take the comment too badly, but tried to put a humouristic twist to it
- because there might very well be some truth to it:
I might just have inflicted on more people than I imagine with my unstoppable verbosity
I very much subscribe to this poem by a Danish renaissance man:
Piet Hein - and architect, designer, poet and much more
with a well developed sense of æsthetics as well as ethics
- altho I think the word "Talking" should be replaced by "Taking":

Re: Little Mermaid's "inflicting" thread

@ Afterburners: I want no misunderstandings, please
sldbcamping and I started out on a strange footing this morning my time - his night.
It could have developed in the wrong direction
- it didn't
- on the contrary
We became brothers in sorrow in no time ....
It just goes to show that you should always be twice as polite as you need to be
- because everybody is fighting some kind of battle of his own ...
ha! one more little brother - one lost his baking stone, but the other one has a 5 lb bag of salt
salt or not: Hej Lillebror!

@ ski1939: Thank you for your very kind words rose
I try my best because to me crunching means something more in addition to the numbers.
Some make cross stitching, I think this may be my creative outlet
- I love the Internet, Google and YouTube
- and I plan to get a life biggrin
@ bearcat: I do go (but don't think I posted) to Minnesota Crunchers quite often.
I like to read the bright posts there in the freshness of the Minnesota deep freeze.
I would like to be part of the get together you're planning and
I wish your back will get better soon, bearcat rose
