We are currently experiencing issues with our server environment and we are only able to keep some of the applications running that are required to fully run World Community Grid. Earlier today these issues caused the website to be unavailable. It also made it impossible to upload results and download new work.
----------------------------------------We have been able to get the environment into a state where the website and forums are available and you can upload results and download new work. However, we are not able to run the backend processes. We are working through the issue and will provide an update when we have more information. We are going to be making some changes to our server configuration that we out resolves this issue. However, it will not be completed in time to allow the validators to catch up before end of day stats. As a result, the stats for today will be significantly lower than normal.

Due to some good work by our hosting staff, the environment has been modified and the system is catching up. We estimate that it will take another couple of hours before all of the validation is caught up, but at this time we are operating at 100%.

Although the major outage was resolved on June 28th, the environment continued to have several periods each day where scheduler requests and file uploads were not working correctly over the past week. Last night we upgraded the Linux kernel on the servers and installed the latest fixpack for the clustered filesystem software (IBM GPFS). In the 12 hours since that time, we have not seen any of the issues that we had been seeing. We will be continuing to monitor the situation, but we are cautiously optimistic that this fix has now resolved the issue and returned operations to be stable.
