Outsmart Ebola Together project update - October 2018

Hello everyone,

We have an important update about the Outsmart Ebola Together project, which you can read here.

The research team will be concentrating on analyzing the data produced by the work on World Community Grid. We'll be stopping work in 3-4 weeks.

Thanks so much to everyone who has supported this project!

Re: Outsmart Ebola Together project update - October 2017

Woohoo! Congrats to everybody on this mammoth project.
I'm so enthused that this may one day contribute to a cure for Ebola and, more importantly, the more common deadly viruses in its whole family.

I'm just as enthused that 130 years per day of work is going to be sent from this project to the other projects. Hopefully all projects will see an improved Estimated Completion Date and ultimately maybe we'll see data analysed and potential cures tested in vivo all the sooner.

ErikaT, can you clarify one thing - all the posts refer to the work 'stopping.' Do you mean that there will be Ebola OM work units left undistributed, but the chance of finding a cure in that space is too low to justify putting our folding resources there? Or do you mean that all experiments will complete naturally?

Thanks,

Dayle

Re: Outsmart Ebola Together project update - October 2017

Not altogether surprising considering there hasn't been a project update from the science team in several years. It's been rather obvious that this project wasn't the topmost thing on their schedule.

Dayle,
We'll be distributing all the work units we have.

Thank you for your support,

Re: Outsmart Ebola Together project update - October 2017

I'm wondering how close are we to the end. According to the last update we should already be there.
